Jonathan Amey, M.Ed.

Founder, Program Director

Jonathan has been working for 14 years as a teacher, supervisor, and educational consultant. His range of expertise includes, but is not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and specific learning disabilities. He has worked with students of all ages and abilities in a variety of specialized settings.

In addition to his clinical experience, Jonathan also consults with school districts interested in replicating precision teaching models in their classrooms. He provides the training, coaching, and instructional design necessary for successful and sustainable implementation.

Jonathan began his career at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic as an in-home program specialist for learners with Autism. He went on to receive training from some of the leading practitioners in the field of Behavior Analysis and Precision Teaching. He is an alumnus of the Morningside Academy Teachers Academy, a summer intensive program focused on Precision Teaching and the Morningside Model of Generative Instruction.

In 2003, Jonathan was invited to serve as lead teacher in a classroom specifically established for Precision Teaching at the PLEA school in Pittsburgh, PA. Jonathan developed the gross motor coordination wellness group at the PLEA school. This program was designed to target gross motor delays and create fluent coordination for each student.

Jonathan has presented data-based research related to his clinical work at the International Precision Teaching Conference, International Association of Behavior Analysis Education Conference, Pennsylvania Association of Behavior Analysis Conference, and the Special Issues in Autism Conference. Jonathan is a member of the Standard Celeration Society.

Jonathan received his Master's degree in Special Education from Duquesne University and his Supervisor of Special Education certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jonathan resides with his wife and two young boys in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
